The ultimate conference for the smart card / smart objects community
OMNICARD 2011: January, 18th - 20th
The focus – Identification
Every January for the last seventeen years, the smart card community has come together for its conference in Berlin. The major theme on which OMNICARD focuses is the identification of people and things. From this perspective the conference considers sophisticated system solutions, the ‘smart secure solutions’, which now go beyond the familiar card format. The topics covered in the programme include electronic ID cards, electronic and mobile payment, the electronic health card, as well as the numerous deployment opportunities which centre on RFID and NFC.
OMNICARD’s Europe-wide reputation is grounded in content quality, which is manifest in highly qualified international speakers, in a topical and challenging spectrum of issues, and in a truly unique conference atmosphere. It is by far the most important event of its kind in central Europe.
The structure – Knowledge exchange and networking
During the three-day conference delegates can attend major forums, intensive workshops, controversial panel discussions and outstanding keynote papers. In line with its motto, ‘The world of smart solutions’, OMNICARD is both a credible platform for the regular exchange of knowledge and experience and a first-class networking opportunity. Management and specialists from the industrial sector meet the decision makers from the worlds of finance and politics, from regulatory authorities and standardisation bodies. The conference is also well attended by researchers, consultants and representatives of trade associations.
The speakers – Decision makers from industry and politics
A high quality programme needs top people. Every year, the OMNICARD programme committee brings together the leaders of the field. Government policy and future plans are explained by the ministers responsible. From industry and the world of research you hear those who make the decisions or provide the decisive stimuli. Experts from Germany and abroad take part in the panel discussions, while distinguished keynote speakers deal with major questions of topical interest.
The setting – Atmosphere of a top hotel
The setting for OMNICARD is the centrally located Grand Hotel. The special exhibition which accompanies the conference is spread throughout the entire hotel and surrounds the auditoriums. The coffee breaks and the traditionally long and atmospheric evenings take place in the exhibition area. Most delegates take advantage of the special offer of comfortable hotel accommodation at reasonable prices.
The participants – well informed and connected
OMNICARD is first and foremost a networking event. On three full days and on two evenings late into the night, delegates make new contacts and renew existing ones. These three days provide a comprehensive overview of new applications, of risks and solutions, of technological trends and of progress and hold-ups in a variety of major projects. There is discussion of setbacks, of new ideas and of legislation in the pipeline. OMNICARD offers you a wealth of stimuli and the chance to encounter experts from the national and international stage. Again and again it is the place where key projects are initiated and major decisions taken. You too can experience the thrill of inspiration.
The conference languages are English and German / Simultaneous translation
